Litigation and Dispute Resolution-
Problems: Solutions
Lawyers have cases. Clients have problems that need to be solved.
When you ask, "Do I have a case? ", at the Steinberg Law Offices our answer is always the same: the Firm may have a case; you have a problem that needs to be solved. Similarly, if you are concerned about defending your position against another's claim, our job is to help you to prepare for litigation and to evaluate whether a prolonged trial might be avoided. Our common goal is to find a cost-effective, practical solution to your problem.
Solutions take many forms: negotiation, litigation, mediation, arbitration--Our job is to find the solution that best fits your unique needs and concerns.
We believe in preparing every case as if we will have to litigate
it before a jury. But being thoroughly prepared does not mean
overworking a case. It means knowing what information is important,
how to find it, and how to present it persuasively.
At the Steinberg Law Offices, we
handle litigation of a complexity that many find surprising for
so small a firm. We have successfully argued cases before the
State and Federal Courts, many of which have involved General
and Commercial Litigation, including: partnership and shareholder disputes, business dissolution proceedings, antitrust class actions, business torts, breach of contract actions and intellectual property cases. A substantial part of our litigation practice is Employment Litigation. We represent plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving claims of race, sex, age and disability discrimination and sexual harassment.
In the area of Negligence and Personal Injury Litigation,
our seasoned litigators have handled a broad range of matters,
including medical malpractice, premises liability, automobile
negligence, insurance coverage and worker's compensation cases.
Drawing on their years of experience in those matters, our attorneys are able to gather and evaluate information efficiently and economically
and guide our clients through every phase of the litigation process.

A significant aspect of our practice is our work in the area
of Employment Law. We often represent executives and individuals in employment disputes involving Fortune 500 companies. Many of
these matters have been resolved through our successful negotiation of separation agreements that provided for substantial compensation
packages. We also counsel individual clients on such emerging
issues as "non-compete" agreements and regularly provide
advice to corporations and other business entities in regard to
employment issues. We have also prepared written policies, guidelines and handbooks on such matters for our clients.
Our attorneys' experience in Aviation Law spans more than
25 years. Our founding attorney, himself a licensed pilot, has
successfully defended individual pilots in licensing proceedings
before the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. Another of our attorneys represented the New Jersey
Division of Aeronautics early in her career. We represent airport
owners in zoning disputes and general business matters and routinely counsel individuals and businesses in this area of the law.
Our practice in Sports and Entertainment Law includes
representation of two NCAA Division I college athletic conferences. Our lead attorney in this area is a former Senior Vice President
and General Counsel of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, the entity that owns and operates Giants Stadium, the Continental
Airlines Arena, the Meadowlands and Monmouth Park Racetracks and
convention centers in Atlantic City and Wildwood, New Jersey,
with experience in a wide range of sports-related contractual
matters. These include the drafting and negotiation of leases
and license agreements with the five professional sports franchises that are based at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, as well as contracts
with advertisers, broadcasters, concessionaires and promoters
of special events such as concerts, college athletic events and
